Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Families United Navigators to Leaders platform (the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Platform.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or a parent or legal guardian acting on behalf of a minor, to create an account and use the Platform. By registering, you represent that you meet this eligibility requirement.

Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your profile information current. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Platform only for its intended purposes, including accessing training materials, participating in community discussions, and completing program activities. You agree not to:

  • Misrepresent your identity or provide false information
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users or staff
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or platform systems
  • Disrupt or interfere with the platform's functionality
  • Use the platform for any illegal purpose
  • Use the platform for unauthorized commercial purposes
  • Scrape, copy, or redistribute platform content without authorization

Intellectual Property

All training content, materials, curriculum, and platform design are the property of Families United or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the training materials for your personal, non-commercial educational purposes. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

Data Accuracy

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide through intake forms, profile updates, and other submissions. While many questions offer a "Prefer not to answer" option, information you do provide should be truthful. Providing intentionally false information may result in account suspension.

Community Guidelines

When participating in discussion forums and community features, you agree to be respectful, stay on topic, and maintain the confidentiality of other participants. Sharing other users' personal information or disability-related details without their consent is strictly prohibited.

Limitation of Liability

Families United provides this Platform and training program as an educational and advocacy resource. We are not a legal, medical, or professional services provider. The information and resources provided through the Platform are for general educational purposes and should not be considered a substitute for professional advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Families United shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.

Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in conduct that is harmful to other users or the Platform. You may also request account deactivation at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your access to training materials and community features will cease, but data retention will follow our Privacy Policy.

Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved in the courts of the State of California.
